This artwork:
Ambedo describes a melancholic meditative state wherein one becomes immensely focused on small details of the nature around them, like raindrops on a window or steam rising from a cup. This painting began with the medicine plants shaped as the body’s muscles and bones. The pelvis, sacrum, quadrates lomborum, lattisimus dorsi, scapula… they became peyote, datura, bufo, marijuana, and sassafras. And through meditation of the plants inside the body, a heightened attention can be found on what is happening inside ourselves. Embodied Ambedo.
